Signature Collection

For my signature collection I created three pieces. I stuck to neutral color tones of tan, grey and brown. I used fabrics such as chiffon, silk, tulle, and nylon. In my collection I manipulated fabrics such as chiffon and organza by burning the tips to create a raw burnt edge, that were later sewn by hand onto my pieces.

Before designing I sketched out and did endless rendering to my three pieces to decided which direction I wanted to go towards.

First Piece

In this first piece I created a one shoulder top and trousers out of a light slate nylon fabric. The top included two darts, a hem all around, and a three clasp closure on the right side. The top was also decorated by hand sewn organza flowers that were each individually burnt, sewn together and hand sewn onto the top of the halter. The pants included two darts in the front and back with an invisible zipper, as well as a band on the top. They are made of nylon.

Second Piece

In this piece I created two pieces. The bustier was made of a thick tulle with boning and topped off with silk traps. I embroidered the top of the bustier with burnt chiffon. The back of the bustier is buttoned up with silk buttons. The trousers are made of nylon and include two darts in the back as well as a folded pleat on the front of the pants. These trousers have an invisible zipper on the right side hem.

Third Piece

For my last piece I created a simple silk dress that has a tie finish in the back and two slits on each side.
